There are many different ways to be a Girl Scout. A girl can:

  • Join a troop at your school

  • Register individually and get regular updates by mail on council-wide events and opportunities.

  • Sign up for Girl Scout Camp. Many Girl Scout councils offer day and resident camping opportunities for girls.
  • Join a short-term interest group. Many Girl Scout councils offer four-week to six-month long sessions focusing on careers, engineering, sports, theater, and money management, just to name a few!

In Girl Scouting, every Girl Scout can

  • Learn about and believe in herself.

  • Develop an awareness of others and a sense of personal responsibility.

  • Build a sense of personal worth.

  • Develop a close relationship with an adult, which she may not otherwise have.

  • Develop a concept of good citizenship.

  • Learn team work in small groups.

  • Develop a growing awareness of the world.

Our goal at the Girl Scouts of Lac Baie Council is to give every girl the opportunity to become a Girl Scout. Girl Scouting is open to all girls ages 5-17. The Girl Scout Membership fee is $10. There are different Girl Scout program levels, and they include:

Daisy Girl Scouts:  5-6 years old, Grade K
Brownie Girl Scouts:   6-8 years old, Grade 1-3
Junior Girl Scouts:  8-11 years old, Grade 4-6
Cadette Girl Scouts:  11-14 years old, Grade 6-9
Senior Girl Scouts: 14-17 years old, Grade 9-12
11-17 Girl Scouts: 11-17 years old, Grade 6-12

Be a part of the largest girl organization in the world! Yes, the WORLD! Did you know that 99.3% of the Girl Scout organization is driven by volunteers? This is just one reason Girl Scouting is so powerful!
