General Realignment News - What you need to know!

Girl Scouting is embarking on an exciting evolution to better meet the needs of girls in today’sfast-changing world. Over the last two years, the national Girl Scout organization (GSUSA) has conducted a comprehensive review of its business with a membership-wide team of council chief executive officers, GSUSA staff, volunteers, and girls nationwide. Through the extensive reviewing and research, GSUSA has determined that realigning the councils throughout the United States will allow local councils to provide a consistent Girl Scout experience for all members. This Girl Scout message will follow the Girl Scout mission, which is to build girls of courage, confidence and character so they can make the world a better place.

Pictured below is the map from GSUSA and the five new councils in our area.

The Northern Council that will include Lac Baie Council, as well as five other councils, plus the Upper Peninsula                                       .

The focus of the council realignment is just one part of a process to strengthen the Girl Scout movement as a whole. And, the council realignment process, combined with the implementation of the new program model and the new volunteer service model, will result in a better overall Girl Scout program for our girls and our volunteers.

If you have any questions or concerns about the council realignment, please call 800-236-4475 or 920-469-4860. Or email gslbc@lacbaiegirlscouts.org
